World’s Greatest Food Markets with Roger Barton – New York

Love the atnosphere of markets but there is always a lot of strategies going on and its easy to work hard for nothing.

I dont know what the answer is to doing well – but working early hours in a market and in the fruit, flower and vegetable markets through the night – makes it hard to have your wits about you. Have always wanted to visit the large flower auctions in Holland but get excited with the buzz in any market. This link is available on IPlayer until 19th December and is Roger Barton’s first experience of markets outside Billingsgate.  Heard about these three programmes because watched by accident, the second one tonight, 23rd November where Roger Barton works at Mexico’s La Central de Abasto.
